Your eMail is not 100% safe
I always recommend Google Apps email to my clients, it may not be the cheapest option, but it is practical and has lots of benefits that businesses can take advantage of.
But like everything else that requires a password, you can by carelessness or mistakes give accsess to unauthorized persons, and your email account for sure contains lots of sensitive information that you do not want to end up in the wrong hands…
Google has a tool that makes it possible to check if someone other than you haved logged into your Gmail.
Sign in to Gmail and scroll down to the bottom of the page. To the right there is a small link with the text “Information” Click it.
This will open a small window with three columns showing three things, the type of client who logged in from which IP address the login happened and when.
Now you can see if someone logged in from an operating system, browser or mobile device that is different from the ones you use.
To check your IP address, you can use the service whatismyip.com. Note that this only shows the ip address you are using right now. If you use another computer or mobile device outside your wifi-zone or home it will have another ip address.
