Mozilla wants to start an app-store
Mozilla has announced plans for an open a app-store that will work in all browsers.
Mozilla has announced that it plans to develop a standard for plug-ins. The standard that Mozilla calls Open Web App Ecosystem is supposed to be a app-store that can be used by all browsers.
Mozilla does not want browser plug-ins will be limited to a particular browser, operating system or platform. Plug-ins, or webbapps, according to Mozilla’s standard could be distributed in a variety of channels.
Mozilla’s proposal is similar to Google’s plans to start a Chrome Web Store to be both free and pay apps for the Chrome browser. Google Chrome Web Store is supposed to be an equivalent to Apple’s App store for the browser.
