Apple vs Samsung

Next round between Apple vs Samsung has begun. As in previous fights in the court, the judge is the same as before Lucy Koh.

This time Apple accused the South Korean electronics giant Samsung, of violating five patents related to the iPhone and iPad.

This time Apple wants to have 2 billion dollar. This on the grounds that Apple accuse Samsung to have encroached on five patents related to drag-to-the-lock-up, auto-correction, hyperlinks, background synchronization of data and the ability to perform searches using a voice-activated assistant.

Among the persons who will testify in the trial this time, include the Android creator Andy Rubin and Apple’s marketing chief Phil Schiller.

In the previous trial in California, which ended in August 2012 was Samsung sentenced to pay $ 890 million to Apple.

This time the focus was mainly on a number of design patents, which had meet lots of critics, claiming  Apple wants exclusivity on rectangular products with rounded corners.
